Delaware State Police recover stolen vehicle, firearms, power tools, drugs

CAMDEN WYOMING, Del. – 52-year-old Judy Goddard of Camden Wyoming is behind bars after being found inside stolen vehicle Saturday afternoon.

Around 12:48 p.m. on October 15th, Delaware State Police troopers responded to the Royal Farms at 5456 North DuPont Highway in Dover for a reported stolen vehicle. The caller reported that a blue 1997 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from Maryland, and parked in the Royal Farms parking lot.

When troopers arrived, they found the Chevrolet attempting to leave the parking lot. Troopers pulled the vehicle over, and identified the driver as Goddard. She was arrested without incident, say police. A computer search confirmed the vehicle had been stolen out of Caroline County, Md. Troopers searched the vehicle, finding two stolen firearms, stolen power tools, drug paraphernalia, and about 1.12 grams of Methamphetamine.

Goddard was taken to Delaware State Police Troop 9. She is charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, two counts of receiving a stolen firearm, and receiving stolen property over $1,500. Goddard is also charged with possession of a controlled substance, two counts of receiving stolen property under $1,500, possession of drug paraphernalia, and fictitious registration plate.

Goddard was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #7, and taken to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $9,250 secured bond.
