Bull on the Beach closes doors on OC boardwalk, potential for a possible relocation

OCEAN CITY, Md.-  There’s been a series of community staples closing their doors in Ocean City.

Now, another will be added to the list who’s called the boardwalk home for over four decades: Bull on The Beach.

Owner Phil Houck says the lease was not renewed as he and Park Place Hotel couldn’t come to an agreement.

He adds rent nearly doubling and a want for the restaurant to extended its hours also caused this closure.

Houck says he’s received an outpour of support on social media and has gotten hundreds of emails from customers who will miss that location.

Yet, he tells us this may not be a permanent goodbye. “Well actually I think a new location will come on the boardwalk. In fact, I’m meeting somebody there this Friday to go over another location so hopefully. Sometimes things work out for the best so maybe this will work out for the best,” Houck said.

Houck tells 47ABC that the 94th street location and sister restaurant Crab Alley are still going strong.

He adds that thanks to J1 workers they’ve been able to stay open 7 days a week.
