“This is important:” Local non-profit to host voter registration event

SALISBURY, Md. – One non-profit is hosting a National Voter Registration Day event to bring more resources to voters ahead of the upcoming general election.

Faith Over Fear Economic Empowerment Inc. tells 47ABC the goal is to get those registered to vote who still need to and provide helpful tips about understanding the ballot. The organization has also reached out to candidates to attend so that community members can get more acquainted with them. It’s your right to vote and organizers say it’s important to let your voice be heard and know how to use it.

“People in the area saying they don’t know who the candidates are or they don’t understand the ballot, so I feel like this is a good opportunity to get assistance,” Executive Director Angela Morton said. “We want to make it everyone’s business. This is important to get out, get registered, and go vote.”

That event will be held on National Voter Registration Day, which is September 20th, at the Riverwalk Amphitheater in Salisbury from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The day will also include food and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.
