Back to School Boxing Explosion coming to Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – Get excited if you’re into boxing because a tournament is coming right here to Salisbury tomorrow afternoon.

That’s the Back to School Boxing Explosion 2022, a one-time event.

47 ABC spoke with an organizer, Coach Ralph who tells us the event will feature 15 rounds. He says he has 13 students and that number is growing. Through this event, the proceeds will support the student’s gear and travel for the competition.

He says he wants to educate the community that you can still box no matter your age. “I’m doing this to bring awareness to our community, we got football here, basketball here, and those are great sports, baseball and I see that that’s a nostalgic here but I don’t never see the strong crowd come out for the boxing, I’m here to nurture boxing here in our community because boxing is here to stay,” says Coach Ralph Nichol, Head Coach of the Boxing Clinic.

Coach Ralph says if you tell officials at the gate you’ve seen this story, you can get in for just 2$0 dollars compared to the regular admission of $30 dollars. The first bell goes off at 4 PM on the Salvation Army football field.
