$500 credit for seniors in Princess Anne
PRINCESS ANNE, MD- Seniors in Princess Anne over 70 years old with property in the area can now qualify for a 500-dollar tax break thanks to a new resolution that passed the town council.
The refund would seek to help those on a fixed income afford necessities during a time of rising inflation. Town Manager Clayton Anderson tells 47abc, that the measure was similar to a resolution passed in 2021, and is meant to make sure the most can afford to pay for services such as utilities, car payments, and medication.
“We saw this was a group that was hit hard during the pandemic so the town decided to help the aging seniors giving them this tax credit not to exceed five hundred dollars on their residence might help some of them,” Anderson said.
The deadline for application for residents is January 3rd, 2023.
