Officials say the use of technology can help with procrastination ahead of the school year

DELMARVA – Many schools across Delmarva had children head back to the classroom today.

Officials are warning parents that it is a joint effort between them and their children to combat the issue. They say the issue of procrastination stems from the summer break. Kids are adjusting to having so much freedom to come back to a regular school schedule. But to help with that adjustment an expert with Brainly shares the importance of using technology to its benefit in order to avoid the issues of procrastination.

“If you want your kid to start getting involved in their education early, try to get them to really start thinking in the way that their school needs them to learn a subject, there are so many options out there from little kids grade levels to way up to high school and beyond where they can use technology to help them,” says Patrick Quinn, the Parenting Expert, for Brainly.

Quinn also says not to wait until the end of the night to check in on your kid’s homework and parents have to hold themselves accountable by sticking to a schedule as well. He says Brainly has math homework help too on their app for you to check out. One local college, Wor-Wic Community College has some resources to combat procrastination issues. Officials tell us that it’s important to plan to have a successful school year.

“So we’re going to offer students in that workshop the chance to kind of break down their schedule, take a look at when those exams are and when can we fit studying into our schedule because studying is fundamental to the regular homework and assignments that we’re going to be offering and that they’re going to be needing to do,” says Michael Webber, the Director of Student Success for WorWic Community College.

National procrastination is September 6th and both Worwic Community College and Brainly have some resources to help you and your family to get ahead.

“I think it’s important early on to find those academic resources, tutoring is available 24/7 through our brain fuse app and that’s found in our Blackboard where all of our courses are loaded,” says Webber.
