Ocean Pines board of directors voting deadline approaching

Ocean Pines, Md. – Election day is just one day away for the Board of Director’s seat.

Officials tell 47 ABC that there are 3 vacancies and they have 6 candidates. That is Paula Gray, Amy Peck, Stuart Lakernick, Monica Rakowski, Josette Wheatley, and Steve Jacobs. This year the town has added an online voting option. Officials say this is a crucial election because the elected candidates will be in office for the next 3 years.

“The total composition of the board is 7 directors and so to have 3 new directors could conceivably change the approach the board takes going forward depending upon who sits in those seats the board majority could change,” says Colette Horn, the President of the Ocean Pines Association.

In the mail, each eligible property owner has received an election packet. It includes the notice of the annual meeting, candidate information, and one paper ballot along with a registration code for online voting. The deadline to vote is tomorrow, August 10th at 4 P.M.
