National Folk Festival to feature new events blocked in 2021 by covid guidlines

Folk Fest PostponedSALISBURY, Md- The National Folk Festival in Salisbury is less than a week away with tents already set up in multiple lots downtown in preparation.

Organizers say this year’s event will have many more stages and group activities than last year’s event including a market, dance floor, and family room.

“We have this huge stage that is coming back this year also class to the dance stage- and the festival marketplace and that is back and incredible returning and new artist if you want to get your Christmas shopping done in august,” said event organizer Carolien O’Hare.

She says she expects even more people to be in town this year than in the past.
That’s because the date is falling on the move-in-day weekend for Salisbury University students.

“We’ve got all these families from across the country some local and not and they are coming to drop them off to SU and what’s down the street we are so there is something for the parents and students and they get to meet this downtown and come back even when there is not a folk festival,” O’Hare said.

The festival will begin on August 26th and run throughout the weekend.
