Wicomico County prepares for Primary Election Day
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Primary Election Day is right around the corner. While results will be reported on election night, the final tallies will come ten days later, according to Wicomico County Elections Director, Dionne Church.
Church says as of Tuesday night, about 1,800 voters have turned out for early voting. Early voting ends Thursday, July 14th at 8 pm. Primary Election Day is on Tuesday, July 19th. If you’ve never voted before, or don’t quite remember how the process works, Church says this is what you can expect:
“When voters come to our polling places too vote, they can bring their sample ballots that were mailed to the voters at the end of June,” said Church. “Be prepared to vote for all of your local offices, and to include our state candidates for governor, as well as the General Assembly Senate and House of Delegates races.”
Before then, voters are welcome to utilize drop off boxes placed around the county. “Voters can drop off mail in ballots at any of our drop off locations. We have one at our office, at the Civic Center, and one at First Baptist on Booth Street,” said Church.
