The race for Maryland State Senate for the Republican Primary Election continues
MARYLAND – The Maryland State Senate race for District 37 continues.
In this race we have incumbent republican Senator Addie Eckardt. And hoping to take over is the only other republican opposing her Delegate Johnny Mautz, who as of right now is in the lead.
We spoke with him and here’s how he is feeling so far with numbers in his favor.
“Im elated, the primary is not an enjoyable experience I use the analogy of pulling out a splinter because you’re campaigning friends against friends…the most amazing thing about being involved in public service, putting your name out and campaigning is when you get messages from people just inspirational messages, hope, solidarity, and unity,” says Johnny Mautz.
Although all the votes haven’t been counted, he says his campaign has received a lot of support. Whoever gets the Republican nomination will face off against Democratic hopeful Naomi Hyman in November. Hyman is currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Talbot County Democratic Central Committee.
The general election will take place on November 8th but you can keep up with all election results on our website.
