Rise & Sign Program scheduled for July 26th

SALISBURY, Md. – The Paul S. Sarbanes library will hold an event for caregivers and babies to sign.

That is sign language. The program is an interactive storytime. The event will highlight sign language and its importance to family connection.  Event organizers tell us why this would be beneficial to bring your family out to the event.

“We would like the parents or caregivers to start thinking about the impact they have on their babies when they’re teaching them how to communicate and express themselves…at an early age we hope that this will help parents and caregivers to develop strong bonds,” says Anna Fenerty, the Youth Services Manager of Wicomico Public Libraries.

The Rise and Sign program is happening tomorrow morning for babies up to 23 months at 10:30 AM. If you miss this event, there is another one on Thursday. The library also has its Summer reading program going on which ends August 13th.
