Maryland State Police identify victims in Princess Anne double shooting

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Maryland State Police have identified two victims in an apparent murder-suicide that happened Tuesday afternoon in Princess Anne.

At around 4:30 p.m., troopers at the Princess Anne Barrack responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 32000 block of West Post Office Road. Troopers found the victims, identified as 35-year-old Richard Cantwell III and 61-year-old Michael Jarman, both suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

At this time, police say the investigation indicates that Cantwell and Jarman were inside their home when the incident occurred, and a verbal altercation took place before the shooting. Investigators also say that Cantwell was Jarman’s stepson, and both lived in the residence along with Cantwell’s mother.

The investigation is continuing.
