DELAWARE- A local author is highlighting mental health challenges,by not just writing about them, but also pledging to donate the profits from her series.
Local author Aislinn Archer’s – Dream Weaver series is coming back for another installment, featuring a main character battling with his own mental health issues.
And to tie it all in she is pledging 20 percent of her royalties from each of the books to a (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in Delaware
She says in the books her main character agrees to highlight a local mental health resource place- and she wanted to follow their lead.
“in this case, I decided I wanted to go ahead and give some of that same exposure to a local nonprofit for all these books I am doing in this series, and this one I wanted to spotlight mental health awareness and support,” Archer said.
She says as someone who has fought depression she wanted people to understand that resources are available- and affordable- and wanted to be part of the push to help make sure anyone who needs help is able to ask for it.
