HALO volunteer orientation ahead of worker shortage
The HALO ministry is hosting a volunteer orientation to help out some of the homeless community here on the shore. Celeste Savage with the ministry says volunteers are well needed during this time of worker shortage and increase in food and shelter needs. The orientation will teach volunteers more about the organization and what their roles include.
“We’ve been serving about 135 to 140 at night just in our dinners. I can tell you we’re in desperate need of our groups so we can actually physically open our cafe because right now we’re handing out our meals as carryout,” Savage says.
The volunteer orientation is set to take place tomorrow evening at the HALO center at 119 South Boulevard in Salisbury. For more information about the event, you can visit their Facebook page.
