Four arrested in connection with fatal July 4th shooting in Cambridge

DORCHESTER COUNTY, Md. – Several arrests have been made in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month.

Around 9 p.m. on July 4th, 2022, Cambridge Police responded to the 1000 block of Cosby Lane for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found 24-year-old Tuyane Johnson, Jr. of Cambridge on the ground, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Johnson was taken to Dorchester General Hospital, where he later died. Autopsy results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Johnson’s death a homicide by gunshot wound.

Friday, Maryland State Police announced four arrests made in connection with Johnson’s death. 22-year-old Deondray Stanford of Cambridge is now charged with first degree murder, first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment and other related criminal charges. 32-year-old Dominic Savage of Cambridge was also arrested. He is charged with reckless endangerment, loaded handgun on person, firearm possession with felony conviction and illegal possession of ammunition.

25-year-old Rahkeem Beck, 25 Easton is charged with reckless endangerment, loaded handgun on person, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition. 23-year-old Isaiah Handy of Grasonville is charged with firearm possession with felony conviction, loaded handgun on person, reckless endangerment and illegal possession of ammunition.
