Eastern Shore Running Club kicks off the 4th of July
SALISBURY, Md. – Earlier today the Eastern Shore Running Club kicked off the 4th of July with a 4 mile run in Salisbury.
“With the distance to and from the house it’s about 4 miles, so I figured 4 miles would be a good distance for the Fourth of July,” says Vanessa Junkin, President of the Eastern Shore Running Club.
On this holiday, the Eastern Shore Running Club hosted a community run. Two newcomers tell me this is their first time running with the club and they’re glad they did.
“Just the enjoyment of running with everyone,” says runner Rose Beteck. “The sense of community, we’re actually new it’s been very welcoming for us 6.20.51 to have a group here in salisbury,” says runner Jordan Planzer. 6.20.52
The president of the club says don’t worry if you’re new to running, you won’t be left behind.
“Some people are faster but I always stay with whoever at the slowest pace so nobody’s left behind,” says Vanessa Junkin.
Runners Rose Beteck says it means a lot to have such an inclusive group in the community.
“This is just very encouraging to know that there’s a group out here where people can actually come, run at your pace, you can walk, everybody so supportive,” says runner Jordan Planzer.
The President of the Eastern Shore Running Club also says that you can get in on the fun runs by following them on social media and visiting their website.
