Dorchester County Public Schools open house set to answer any parent concerns
DORCHESTER COUNTY, Md. – The new school year is quickly approaching and Dorchester County Public Schools are giving parents and students the chance to see what’s ahead of the new year.
During the open house, families can meet with administrators, and teachers, and check out the classroom settings. It’ll take place at all the schools on Thursday, August 25th from 4 to 6 pm. Officials tell us they’re hopeful parents will take advantage of this opportunity.
“We hope that we’re able to reach out to all our families and students to address any concerns they may have and again prepare them for the expectations of the year, all family members and students are able to attend. There’s no mandatory registration in advance,” says Kirk Howie, the Director of Student Services for Dorchester County Public Schools.
Officials tell us there will be a staggard opening for this upcoming school year, freshman and 6th graders will come in a day earlier to get used to the new buildings. If you can’t make it to the open house many of the schools will be holding smaller events for parents down the road.
