Coast Guard searching for 10 y/o lost while swimming in Chesapeake Bay

DEEP POINT, Md. – The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a 10-year-old girl who went missing while swimming in the waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

The swimmer was last seen near Deep Point on Sunday evening wearing a white shirt and sweatpants. The Coast Guard says the girl was swimming with another family member when they lost sight of her. She was last seen struggling in the surf. A good samaritan rescued the other swimming and took her to shore.

The Coast Guard and other agencies are using multiple air and water crews in the search. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Sector Maryland Command Center at 410-576-2525.
