Corvette Club to host local Car Show in Fruitland to benefit Operation We Care

FRUITLAND, Md- Heads up for car fans in the area, the Corvette Club of the eastern shore is holding their charity event tomorrow in Fruitland looking to showcase cool cars and raise money for a good cause.

Over 70 cars, trucks, and even military equipment will be displayed at the Red Man club’s outdoor terrace in Fruitland.  The event is looking to raise money for Operation We Care which sends gift baskets to veterans and active duty service members deployed overseas.

The events manager says their goal is to raise as much as possible while having fun doing it.

“Last year we raised 8,000 which was double the year before we are hoping to do even more than that this year,” said Corvette Club President Jimmy Johnson.

Johnson says they’ll have cars other than corvettes — and auctions — giveaways and an award show for the best-presented vehicle. The event is scheduled to start at 12 and run into the late afternoon.
