FEDERALSBURGH, Md. – Sean Casey Pierce is now in custody, an investigation proved he killed his 2-month-old baby.

Federalsburg police were called on May 30th to a camper on the 300 block of Buena Vista Avenue. That’s where Pierce and a man by the name Robert Fleek were seen giving the baby medical aid.
Pierce says he woke up to the choking of the baby when he became unresponsive. He says he carried him to the house thinking he was suffering a heat stroke, so he dipped the baby in a pool and put frozen ice pops on his body. The baby was taken to the hospital. An investigation revealed the baby died from blunt force trauma and ruled death by homicide.

“We’re continuing to gather evidence and speak with witnesses and so forth, but it’s been turned over to the Caroline County States Attorneys’ office who will handle so at this point they will continue with the assistance of the Federalsburg police, says Ron Snyder with Maryland State Police.

While other witnesses on the scene say the baby was not in distress or had any previous complications, additional medical tests are pending. Pierce is being charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, and other charges. He is being held at the caroline county detention center.
