Water taxi service coming to Ocean Pines in late May

OCEAN PINES, Md. – Ocean Pines officials have announced a new water taxi service coming later this month.

Starting on Tuesday, May 31st, riders can leave from the Ocean Pines Yacht Club to one of three stops in Ocean City: 118th Street, 48th Street, and the West Ocean City Harbor. The water taxes is scheduled to travel from Ocean Pines to 48th Street each day at 12:45 p.m., 3:45 p.m., and 6:45 p.m. Boats will return to Ocean Pines heading north at 2:15 p.m., 5:15 p.m., and 8:15 p.m.

One-way passes will cost $15 and round-trip tickets will cost $25.

Additionally, OC Bay Hopper will offer a special sightseeing trip from Ocean Pines to Assateague on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

“Our plan is to pick riders up at the docks in Ocean Pines at 9 a.m. and whisk them down to Assateague for a tour of the island by water,” OC Bay Hopper Co-owner Steve Butz said. “They’ll get an amazing view of the wildlife and then return to the Yacht Club at about 11:15 a.m., just in time for lunch.”
