College planning conference to take place, introduction of new resource center
MILFORD, Del. – A partnership between Navient and the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware is preparing to bring back their college planning conference, fully in person to best help future college students.
This free event which is open to the public provides students and families with information, resources, scholarship opportunities, and much more. Students get one-on-one attention with recruiters, they can plan out career goals and talk about their financial health.
A representative for Navient tells 47 ABC, that conferences like this can better prepare for a successful college career and life after. “When young adults complete that post-secondary education, they have a distinctly stronger financial health moving forward in their careers regardless of the environmental factors that may have prohibited their success in the past,” says Senior Corporate Communications Specialist at Navient, Matt Ford. He adds, “The money for school is out there and we want to get the word out there that there is money out there to help you better your career, to go to school, whether you’re changing careers, going to school for the first time.”
There will also be a ribbon-cutting to mark the grand opening of the Greater Milford Boys and Girls Club college planning resource center.
The event takes place Saturday, May 14 at the Greater Milford Boys and Girls Club from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
