Police searching for Virginia man wanted in connection to shooting
PARKSLEY, Va. – A Virginia man remains wanted following a shooting that injured one Friday evening in Accomack County.
According to police, the incident took place just after 7:30 p.m. Friday, in the Woodland Trailer Park. We’re told while deputies were en route to this location, they were notified that a victim had arrived at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.
Deputies arrived at the hospital and met with the 29-year-old male victim, who was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment. We’re told he is listed in stable condition.
When deputies arrived in the Woodland Trailer Park, they found that multiple occupied dwellings had been shot, and a large number of cartridge casings were found throughout the area. Through investigation, 27-year-old Dominique Wescott of Melfa was identified as a suspect. Warrants were obtained for Wescott for malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, and reckless handling of a firearm causing serious injury.
