Parksley man arrested in theft investigation


PARKSLEY, Va. — 34-year-old Robert William Rappleyea was arrested for theft of catalytic converters.

Sheriff W. Todd Wessells says an investigation into multiple catalytic converters being stolen in the Parksley area of Accomack County has led to warrants obtained for Rappleyea. Officials say the warrants were for destroying or preventing the operation of a vehicle (x4).

Earlier this afternoon, before 1 PM, the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Rappleyea. He is currently in jail at the Accomack County Jail with a secured bond of $5,000. The investigation continues as police are identifying other suspects.
