Dover man arrested for barbershop murder almost one year later

DOVER, Del. – A suspect has been arrested in a May 2021 shooting incident that unfolded in Dover.

Delaware State Police say 23-year-old Kyree Robinson of Dover is facing charges for murder and other offenses.

Police say around 5:42 p.m. on May 15th, 2021, troopers responded to Uplift Barber Shop on Governors Avenue for a shooting. Investigators say 23-year-old Javon D. Jones of Dover was a shop patron when Robinson entered the business and fired multiple shots at Jones. Jones was struck in the upper torso, and Robsinson ran away. He was later taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Robinson was arrested on April 20th, 2022. He is charged with first degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. Robsinson was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court #2 and issued a $1,070,000 cash bond. He is being held by the Department of Corrections.
