Bikers without borders hosts fill-the-truck food drive, helping local food banks

OCEAN PINES, Md. – Saturday in Ocean Pines, the “Bikers Without Borders Foundation” is hosting a fill-the-truck food drive for local food banks here on the Eastern Shore.

Members will be collecting canned goods, non-perishable items, and monetary donations. Needed items include microwave-ready meals, single-serve cereals, shelf-stable milk, granola bars, bottled water, fruit cups, juice boxes, and more.

The Vice President of the foundation tells 47 ABC, that the past two years were hard for everyone, but that they’re here to lend a helping hand. “The financial strain and the job market, I think it’s impacted people who really never thought that they would lean on a food pantry for their daily needs perhaps,” says James Walsh. He adds, “Even if it’s just a little thing that we can do to make someone’s day a little bit brighter and put a little smile on their face and get them through one more day to a successful evolution on this whole pandemic.”

Foundation members will be in the Food Lion parking lot on Manklin Creek Road in Ocean Pines from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday.
