Argument between Millsboro neighbors erupts in gunfire

MILLSBORO, Del. – Two Millsboro men are facing multiple charges after a shooting Saturday night.

Delaware State Police say around 6:42 p.m. troopers responded to the 28000 block of Mount Joy Road. Investigators say a pair of neighbors, 36-year-old Curtis Collick and 47-year-old Clayton Sample, were arguing outside their homes before the shooting. The argument escalated, and both men fired multiple gunshots at each other.

Collick was struck once in the lower torso, and fled in a vehicle before police arrived. Troopers responding spotted Collick driving away, and pulled him over. Collick was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and later released. Sample was unhurt, and arrested on scene.

Collick is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and first degree reckless endangerment. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #3, and taken to Sussex Correctional Institution on $152,000 cash bond.
