Tell your story for the Talbot Co. Free Library’s funding for FY 2023

TALBOT CO., Md. – Talbot County Free Library needs your help.
The county is working on its fiscal year budget for 2023. Just last week the library presented its presentation to the county council. They are asking the county for more funding for area libraries. Library officials are asking patrons to help support the argument. Library Director Dana Newman says telling your story about the library will help get the funding needed for expansion and better services.
“I really thought this year after the pandemic that there is nobody better to tell our story than the people benefiting from the services. That’s why we thought this would be a much better way of conveying the critical need for library services in Talbot County,” she tells 47ABC.
Newman also says this will help with existing services for youth and adult services. That includes getting kids excited to read and resume and employment writing help. The funding will help to renovate and expand the Saint Michaels library branch.
“What we’re looking for our patrons to let us know how the library positively impacts their lives, so we can use those testimonials for funding purposes,” Newmans says.
