SU Hosts Ghana University Officials For Partnership Program

SALISBURY, Md. – A local partnership that spans two continents is underway at Salisbury University.

The partnership with the University of Cape Coast in Ghana represents SU’s first bilateral university partnership in Africa. With the first SU undergraduate student studying at the institution this semester and next fall, SU will host a visiting nursing professor.

Leaders from both schools say the partnership leaves both schools and communities richer.

“There is an exchange of students, an exchange of staff and then collaborative research, so students go to cape coast and our students come here it helps them have better perspectives on global issues,” said Cape Coast University Vice-Rector Johnson Boampong during his visit.

The schools say they were happy the visit was able to take place during a period of low COVID cases, which had been a previous barrier for cooperation.
