Celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility
DELMARVA — Thursday, March 31st, is Transgender Day of Visibility.
We spoke with the co-founder of TransLiance, who tells us that the day should be celebrated every day. The day allows for people to ask questions, raise awareness and learn more about what’s going on in the community. More importantly, speaks on the support that the community needs. Kathy Carpenter Brown also says there can be confusion out there, but the bottom line is to love everyone.
“But you still have to love that person, love yourself, love your neighbor and I think that would be the biggest message that I have going forward let’s get out of this and love, let’s consider our neighbors,” Kathy says.
Brown says that when celebrating the Transgender Day of Visibility it is important that you ask questions rather than assume and love all people.
