St. Joseph’s Day Festival returns, proceeds to help local charities

OCEAN CITY, Md.- In Ocean City, the town is getting a splash of Italian flare with the return of the St. Joseph’s Day Festival.

Sponsored by the Ocean City Lodge of the Son’s and Daughters of Italy, the festival will reopen its doors to the public after a two year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organizers tell 47ABC, you can expect the same authentic Italian foods from soups, pastas, breads and more.

Although the day’s focus is on celebrating the richness of culture, we’re told the event also allows the group a chance to expand its footprint in the community.

“We wanted to raise more money so that we can increase the size of our scholarships and increase the size of our charitable giving. This festival has given us that opportunity,” Festival Chairman Sal Castorina said. “We thought this would be a good thing to do, start a festival. We started off small and its been growing every year. I think we have a number of local people who look forward to this event every year.”

The festival will be on Saturday, March 19th in St. Andrew’s Hall from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission is free.
