Fuel truck spill shuts down roadways in Easton for hours
EASTON, Md. – Easton Police are investigating a crash involving a fuel truck.
Police say on Saturday, officers responded to the area of St. Michaels Road and Easton Village Drive. When they arrived, officers found a Tri Gas and Oil fuel truck lying on its side against a Cadillac SUV. Police say the fuel truck was leaking a large amount of gas onto the roadway.
Investigators say the fuel truck was turning onto Easton Village Drive from St. Michaels Road when it flipped onto its side. The fuel truck hit the SUV as it was toppling over. The driver of the fuel truck suffered minor injuries, and was taken to Eason Memorial. The driver of the SUV was unhurt.
Easton Fire Department, St. Michaels Fire Department, Maryland State Highway, Maryland Environmental Services, Kent Island HazMat, Cambridge HazMat, and Jess Jr. Towing assisted in the response. The roadway was shut down for about six hours as crews cleared the scene.
