Early Saturday morning fire destroys buildings, vehicles in Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. – Early Saturday morning, firefighters battled a blaze that ate up buildings and vehicles.
Around 5 a.m. Saturday, Salisbury Fire Department (SFD) responded to a structure fire in the area of Merritt Mill Road and Old Ocean City Road. Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company and Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department assisted in the response.
Firefighters found two detached garages and multiple vehicles engulfed in flames, with the fire encroaching on two nearby houses. Engines 16 and 1 arrived shortly after, and got to work knocking down the fire. SFD says it took about 25 minutes to get the blaze under control.
The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is now handling the investigation.
