Del. Charles Otto on the re-election campaign trail

MARYLAND – Maryland House District 38A incumbent Delegate Charles Otto has his sights on keeping his seat in Annapolis. “I’ve felt that another term was important to the people that have supported me in the past, and with the transition to a new administration that’s going to take place with this election,” he said.

Del. Otto says he’s proud of the work he’s done in the House. That includes getting COVID-19 relief funding into the community, and supporting local higher education institutions. “We have excellent higher learning facilities in our area, with Salisbury University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and WorWic Community College,” he said.

The delegate also points to his continued support of the poultry industry, agriculture, and tourism. “Certainly, economic development has been really important and maybe we haven’t progressed as well as we would have liked to. But, we did get the gas pipeline to Princess Anne, and improve emissions at University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Eastern Correctional Institution,” said Del. Otto.

Del. Otto adds that he wants to continue working on getting more highway user generated revenue into the counties. Another top priority will be continuing to bolster unemployment insurance amid the pandemic.

If re-elected, Del. Otto says he plans to keep the needs of the Eastern Shore at the forefront in Annapolis. “I hope I’ve represented the values, and I’ve listened to my constituents and tried to be responsive to their needs.”
