Chincoteague Carnival coming back July 2022

CHINCOTEAGUE, Va.- The volunteer fire company is bringing back the popular Chincoteague Carnival.

That carnival comeback kicks off the first weekend in July.

Visitors will be able to enjoy all the festivities including raffles, rides, fireworks, food, and games.

And, we can’t forget the pony swim and auction.

The Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company said they’re thrilled to be bringing back the Chincoteague tradition, but that attendees can expect some changes.

“We are confident that we are going to be able to be open and do what we need to do, see everybody’s smiling faces and just have everybody together that’s the main thing,” Denise Bowden, Public Relations Officer with the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company, said. “Obviously, there will be games, there will be rides, there will be food, but you may see some increases in the food prices.”

Bowden says these events will be great to bring back money to the community, as well as the fire company.

The pony swim will happen on July 27, although times have not yet been established, and the auction will take place on July 28 at 8 a.m.
