SALISBURY, Md- The City of Salisbury announces the third and final phase of the city’s skate park. The new phase has already had its funding approved with almost 172,000 of both state and local dollars will put the finishing touches on a project – that has been in the works for more than 14 years.

According to the City of Salisbury Grants Manager Deborah Stam, this phase focuses on making the park more usable, accessible, and environmentally friendly.

“It will include approximately 3,000 square feet of additional space, some benches, some trash receptacles a recycling and a concrete pad for portable restrooms, and a staircase,” she said.

She says while it may be too late for major revisions due to the finalized wastewater run-off plan for the park, public comments are still encouraged from the skating community to help make the park as usable as possible during this final phase.

Construction is set to wrap for the park in the early fall of 2022.
