BayHealth expands care access with new virtual service

DELAWARE – One health care organization is responding to the surge of COVID-19 cases with expanding access to care.

BayHealth@Home is a new 24-hour virtual urgent-care service now available to Delawareans, online or through the BayHealth@Home mobile app.

Now through February 11th, the organization is waving patients’ first virtual consultation fee which averages around $60. They say their goal is to relieve stress in their facilities while providing quality care.

“We are now in crisis levels. Wait times to see a provider in an emergency department can be very lengthy,” Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Jonathan Kauffman said.  “We don’t want to discourage folks from seeking emergency care if they’re having a true medical emergency, but if you’re not having a true medical emergency use virtual urgent care.”

Coupons for the free virtual visit are limited to one per household. To sign up or to find out more information, click here.
