‘Santa’s Wonderland’ returns, bringing new festivities for Delmarva

SALISBURY, Md. – Oak Ridge Baptist Church is getting in the holiday spirit by bringing back their 9th annual Santa’s Wonderland.

We’re told after doing the event outdoors during COVID, we’re told that this year’s event will have a few new surprises. This year, Santa’s Wonderland will become a hybrid version of the beloved free event. There will be the traditional indoor events, but they’ll also have outdoor events like caroling and horse and carriage rides

For three nights, families on Delmarva can come and have storytime with Mrs. Claus, check out the hall of trees, the festive lights, hot cocoa, games, and a whole lot more. We’re told, the whole shopping center will be decked out in holiday spirit all while bringing back some normalcy for local families.

Pastor Brian Moss with Oak Ridge Baptist church tells 47 ABC, “They want to be able to have an experience of kind of something that’s nostalgic and reminds me of my childhood, something that you can embrace with family and create brand new memories for the future and Santa’s Wonderland creates an environment to do all that.”

We’re also told, over 400 volunteers help put this beloved event together, and without them, it couldn’t happen.

Pastor Moss says, “It’s really a project of love, they love seeing as the families come in and the kids begin to experience the magic of this event.” He adds, “They love being able to volunteer and give back and show that this is something that is a project of the heart.”

Santa’s Wonderland will take place at Oak Ridge Baptist church starting Thursday, December 9 and 10 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 11 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
