Local woodworkers hand-making toys for children this holiday season

SALISBURY, Md. – The Mason Dixon Woodworkers have been making hand-made custom wooden products for over 30 years. They’re now working to share their talents with the community this holiday season.

We’re told, the group works year-round to make hundreds of toys and donate them to different organizations for families. This year there were piggy banks, cars, trucks, nick-knacks, games, baby doll beds, and much more. However, organization leaders tell 47 ABC, it’s the generous material donations that make it possible to do what they do.

Overall, they say they’re happy their hobby can put a smile on kids’ faces for the holidays.

“I remember years ago when I was young, we didn’t have much and I know I would’ve appreciated getting some of the toys that we make here,” says Toy Shop leader, Donald Connell. He adds, “So I’m just hoping that the youngsters today feel the same way I do about it.”

The woodworkers donated toys to 29 organizations this year.

If you’re interested in donating or participating in the club, you can call Donald Connell at 410–546–3692, or head to their website.
