Lincoln man facing multiple charges after assaulting female acquaintance
LINCOLN, Del. – A Lincoln man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly assaulted a female acquaintance.
Delaware State Police arrested 36-year-old Abel Ramirez-Lopez after the incident unfolded early Saturday morning. Police say on Saturday around 12:30 a.m. troopers responded to Bogan Drive for a reported assault.
Investigators say Ramirez-Lopez had an argument with a 25-year-old female acquaintance, which escalated into a physical altercation. Police say Ramirez-Lopez hit the victim in the face multiple times and slammed her head against a table. The victim was sent to the hospital with a laceration and head injuries. Police say four children were inside the residence at the time, but they were not hurt.
Ramirez-Lopez was taken into custody on scene. He was taken to Delaware State Police Troop 2 and charged with second degree felony assault, and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Ramirez-Lopez was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #3 and taken to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $14,000 cash bond.
