20-year-old victim of Friday morning Bridgeville crash identified
BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – Delaware State Police have identified 20-year-old Cameron Gray of Federalsburg, MD as the victim of a fatal crash that happened Friday morning.
Police say around 7:30 a.m. a Toyota Corolla being driven by Gray was traveling eastbound on Atlanta Road, approaching a slight right curve. At the same time, a fully loaded cement truck being driven by a 53-year-old Bridgeville man was traveling westbound in the area.
Police say Gray crossed into the westbound lane, directly into the path of the cement truck. The truck reportedly tried to avoid the crash by braking, but the front end of Gray’s Toyota hit the front of the truck in a head-on collision. Police say the truck then pushed the Toyota a short distance backwards before both vehicles caught on fire.
Gray was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say he was wearing a seatbelt. The 53-year-old truck driver was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Senior Corporal R. Albert at (302) 703-3266.
