UPDATE: One dead, another injured in Cambridge shooting

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Maryland State Police and the Cambridge Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting in Dorchester County.

Shortly before 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Cambridge Police officers responded to the 900 block of Camelia Street for a report of a shooting involving multiple victims. Preliminary investigation has revealed that officers found two male victims at the scene, both of whom had been shot.

One of the victims, a 16-year-old Cambridge teen, was declared dead at the scene. The other victim, a 15-year-old male, was taken by ambulance to Dorchester General Hospital but was later flown by MSP helicopter to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for treatment.

No other injuries or fatalities were reported. Police say the shooting does not appear to be random and that the victims may have been targeted. No arrests have been made at this time.
