Small business Saturday in Salisbury, highlighting artist market

SALISBURY, Md. – The Eastern Shore celebrated Small Business Saturday, and local small business owners took on the cold weather and showcased some of their products right in downtown Salisbury.

The city of Salisbury encouraged community members to shop local this holiday season, support small businesses, and boost the local economy. Many downtown businesses offered specials and discounts in an artist market. There were homemade candles, clothing, jewelry, Christmas ornaments, and unique gifts.

One business owner tells 47 ABC, although they endured some hardships over the past year, being a part of a community that still supports them is what keeps their business alive.

“It helps people like me get started you get a fan base and regular customers and they see you and they know who you are in the community and uplift everyone when you help local business,” says Sarah Curkin, owner of Made For An Angel At Home.

Curkin tells us that she, as well as other small businesses will be at the Christmas Craft Fair at the Crown Sports Center in Fruitland on December 4th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
