Nominations sought for Wicomico Rotary’s Hero Award

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – The Wicomico Rotary Club wants to honor one local hero and want to hear who you think deserves the recognition.

The club recently created the Rotary’s Hero Award, a designation meant to honor someone who has done something incredible during the year in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, or Dorchester County. Don Hackett, with the Rotary Club, joined our Good Morning Delmarva team to talk more about the award and why they think it’s so important to honor someone who has truly made a difference.

“It’s so important, we have people around us every day that demonstrate heroic acts, and we just would like to take this opportunity to have them recognized by the club,” Hackett said.

The deadline to nominate somebody for the award is December 31st. You can find the nomination form here. We’re told the winner will receive a plaque, and $1,000 to donate to the charity of their¬†choice.
