New Delaware partnership striving to bring more STEM opportunities to students
DELAWARE- A first-of-its-kind partnership supporting STEM Education has launched in the First State.
The Delaware Department of Education, DuPont, and Discovery Education are excited to announce this new collaboration that will increase student access to STEM instructional resources.
The three-year partnership will provide new opportunities for middle and high school students statewide bringing virtual content with STEM careers and hands-on learning.
DuPont said they think this will have a positive long-term impact.
“In 2019, nearly 2 million STEM jobs went unfulfilled, so it’s so important that we support a program like this not just through funding support, but also with our employees as volunteers that can show up in the classroom and help kids see what they can be,” Pat McCrummen, the Global Community Impact Leader at DuPont, said.
McCrummen said this new opportunity will also give teachers more content to get students interested.
And, he said hopefully by fulfilling the STEM pipeline they can increase diversity in the field.
