First State leaders to discuss infrastructure needs Tuesday

DELAWARE – Delaware’s Congressional Delegation and Governor John Carney will meet with the U.S. Department of Transportation Tuesday to discuss infrastructure needs.

This comes after the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act signed into law by President Joe Biden last week. The meeting will highlight investments for the First State.

Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester said the passing of this bill will allow Delaware to compete with the rest of the world, while giving people a greater quality of life.

“This is a once in a generation, once in a lifetime opportunity that we have had by passing the bipartisan infrastructure bill as well as build back better, this will be able to allow us to really modernize our roads, our bridges, but we know that broadband has been a huge need no matter what, whether its education, health, or even your job, or even to live,” Congresswoman Blunt Rochester said.

Representative Blunt Rochester added this bill will also help to create jobs.
