Coastal Hospice Holds THANKSgiving car parade to honor workers

OCEAN VIEW, Del. – Coastal Hospice Workers got a festive and loud celebration on Thursday after a year of hard work.

The THANKSgiving Car parade was held for them in Ocean View, complete with fire trucks cars in colorful decorations, to thank the hospice workers who helped their loved ones with end-of-life care.

Patients and staff stood in the circle in front of the building to watch the sight of cars filling up the road to thank them for the sacrifices they made and the challenges they overcame.
Workers tell us,  it was a rare treat being together with other coworkers and even patients at their facility, as the workers usually work solo for many hours at a time.

“It was amazing, it was incredible to see everyone especially in our line of work especially we don’t often see our coworkers, we are on the road and we have people working in Cambridge, Salisbury, Crisfield, all over the shore, so really having time to get together has just been amazing,” said Lauren Blair of Coastal Hospice.

They say it’s all a part of their celebration of National Hospice Care month, and they want to thank everyone who came out for the parade, including the local police and fire departments.
