Weather Tidbits: Tropical & Polar Seasons
This Weather Tidbits explores tropical and polar seasons. Tropical seasons are based on precipitation. It consists of a dry season which occurs typically between November and April or winter; while a wet season where the majority of the yearly rainfall occurs from May to October or summer. Polar seasons which are based on the position of the Sun’s disc above or below the horizon. A polar day or midnight sun, is when the sun is above the horizon and this happens from March to September which consist of spring and summer. The opposite is a polar night, where the sun is below the horizon and this will include twilight which lasts from September to March or the seasons of autumn and winter.
