Georgetown man threatens victim with shotgun in road rage incident

GEORGETOWN, Del. – 37-year-old Carlton Breasure of Georgetown is facing multiple charges after brandishing a gun at a victim during a road rage incident.

Delaware State Police say the incident happened on October 8th around 7:10 p.m. in the area of Piglet Path and Seashore Highway in Georgetown. Police say the 60-year-old male victim was stopped at an intersection when a tan 2005 Chrysler Sebring turned northbound on Piglet Path in front of the victim’s vehicle. Breasure allegedly then stopped his car, got out, and began arguing with the victim. Police say at that point, Breasure pulled out a shotgun. The victim fled the scene and called police. The victim was not hurt.

When troopers arrived on scene, they found Breasure at the intersection and arrested him without incident. Police also found the 12-gauge shotgun used in the incident inside Breasure’s vehicle. Breasure was taken to Troop 4 and charged with aggravated menacing, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He is also charged with terroristic threatening, driving with a suspended license, and failure to have a registration card and insurance card in his possession.

Breasure was arraigned and taken to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $239,600 cash bond.
