Wicomico Co. health officials break down Sept. COVID cases by age group

WICOMICO CO., Md. – Wicomico County Health Department officials have broken down COVID statistics by age group for the month of September so far.

As of Wednesday morning, the 7-day positivity rate in the county was 12.37%, with the statewide positivity rate sitting at 4.38%.

We’re told there have been 193 cases since September 1st for children 11 years old and younger. Ages 12 to 19 have seen 150 cases, with a jump to 205 for those age 20 to 29. 181 cases have been reported in individuals age 30 to 39, 132 for those age 40 to 49, and 113 cases for those age 50 to 59.

The numbers decline for those age 6o to 69, with only 70 new cases reported. 70 and older only reported 69 new cases.
